As she attempted to jump the fifth hurdle, the sprint star leaped up with her left leg before totally losing control, landing head first into the barrier before face planting the track - scroll down to see the video.

Clearly unable to move, the medical staff rushed over to her aid before John was stretchered off the track.

After failing to reach the qualifying standard, the Trinidad & Tobago hurdler wasn’t due to compete in London but after belatedly making it into the world’s top 40, it meant John was eligible to take to the tracks.

Ouch, it was a really heavy fall! No wonder the medical staff were so careful in treating her.

The rest of the hurdlers did manage to get themselves over the line with no issue and it was world record holder Kendre Harrison who qualified fastest from the heats with a time of 12.60 seconds.

The women’s 100-metre hurdles semi-final takes place on Saturday evening.
