We should never be surprised by the Premier League but nobody saw Chelsea’s 3-2 defeat to Burnley coming. The champions were stunned by an inspired Burnley team who were 3-0 up at half-time, two goals from Sam Vokes coming either side of Stephen Ward’s brilliant effort.Burnley were helped by Gary Cahill’s sending off in the 14th minute and their task became easier when Cesc Fabregas received a second yellow card with 10 minutes remaining. They were made to sweat when Alvaro Morata and David Luiz gave Chelsea a slither of a chance but Sean Dyche’s side held out for a memorable win.Charly Musonda, Andreas Christensen, Fikayo Tomori and Kyle Scott were among Chelsea’s substitutes, leading many to wonder whether Antonio Conte had intentionally named a weak bench in order to send a message to Chelsea’s hierarchy that he wants some new players. But the Italian denied this claim, saying he only wanted to win.“You don’t know me very well,” Conte said, per The Guardian. “You can see that in every friendly game I always played the best formation and I did the same today.“My choice was to put out the best players that we have in this moment. I don’t like this type of idea, someone sending a message. I wanted to win today, not to send a message.”Conte went on to praise the “great spirit and great commitment” of his players, saying it made him “very proud”.But Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi wasn’t ready to let himself and his teammates off without delivering an honest message.

Batshuayi's honest reaction

The Belgian, who started ahead of Morata, took to Twitter on Saturday night to drop a truth bomb.

“Terrible performance today & a lot of things to work on, i wont hide… but its just day one & the journey to the title is long 👍,” Batshuayi wrote.

He added: “Thx to those who support despite everything, we will fight and make it up soon.”

It was a bad day for Batshuayi Fantasy owners

One fan responded to Batshuayi by pointing out that the 23-year-old didn’t bag him many Fantasy Football points.

Batshuayi responded

The Belgium international wrote back: “Yeah today was poor for Fantasy who got me lol but thats not my main concern now 🙄😉.”

Batshuayi managed just one point on the official Fantasy Premier League site, a disappointing return.

It wouldn’t come as a surprise to see Morata given the nod when Chelsea face Tottenham next weekend.
