We won't panic - Gartside

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside says he is not in the business of "pressing panic buttons" after a string of poor results at the Reebok Stadium.

A 2-0 derby defeat to Blackburn saw Bolton remain in the relegation zone and some supporters turn on manager Gary Megson. Bolton have chalked up only one home win in the Barclays Premier League but Gartside said now was not the time for change.

"No-one presses panic buttons around here. I have been in the game long enough not to do that," Gartside told BBC Radio Manchester.

"The next few games are going to be important, as they always are.

"The season is 38 games and we are confident. We have been playing some good football, it's been decent stuff."

Supporters left the ground in numbers after Sam Ricketts' bizarre own goal in the 73rd minute which sealed Bolton's fate.

David Dunn made the breakthrough with his sixth goal of the season as Blackburn ended a run of 10 straight league defeats on the road.

Megson sympathised with the fans and said: "You are looking at a team that is 2-0 down and playing poorly, I can understand people being frustrated and leaving."

Next up for Bolton is a trip to Fulham on Saturday before a potentially crucial match against Wolves at Molineux the following week.
