Football News

Since John Cena returned to the WWE last month, he has been a free agent, allowing him to freely move between SmackDown Live and Monday Night RAW. However, he is yet to appear on the red brand's programming.

The 16-time world champion has appeared at RAW live events, but he has mostly been working on SmackDown in order to build up towards what could be his last match on the blue brand for a while, as he will be facing Baron Corbin at SummerSlam next weekend.

Due to Cena's free agent status, and the fact Mr. Money in Bank is expected to cash in his contract later on in the night, many fans expect The Lone Wolf to come out on top in the match between him and The Cenation Leader.

This would bring the end to Cena's feud with Corbin, providing him with the opportunity to move to Monday Night RAW without any loose ends being left behind on SmackDown. The date of his first appearance on RAW following SummerSlam has been revealed as well.

The Barclays Center official Twitter account, the venue of this year's SummerSlam and the RAW and SmackDown events following, has announced that Cena will make an appearance on the first RAW following WWE's biggest party of the summer.

Cena was already being advertised for WWE's RAW pay-per-view No Mercy on September 24, but it wasn't confirmed when the 16-time world champion would be making his first appearance on the red brand since the brand split over a year ago.

Now we know he will be on the show, and this could be where his build towards the match at the No Mercy pay-per-view begins. The 16-time world champion is also scheduled to appear on the Monday Night RAW episode on September 4 at the Century Link Center in Omaha as well.

In order for the WWE to set up a feud for The Leader of the Cenation at No Mercy pay-per-view, he needs to spend some time on RAW, and it looks like they starting that build the following night immediately after SummerSlam.
