Kenny Omega is a well-respected wrestler in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Okada has risen up the ranks in NJPW and is starting to become the face of the company. He is an outsider of the Japan wrestling promotion alongside fellow Bullet Club members Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks.

During a recent episode of The Steve Austin Show, WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and former WWE Superstar Sean "X-Pac" Waltman recently discussed various topics such as Kazuchika Okada, New Japan Pro Wrestling and more. During the podcast, Austin talked about why he feels Omega should not wait too long before signing with WWE.

2017 has been a good for him as he has had classic matches with several talents. Most notably with IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom in January. There have been rumblings that WWE is interested in signing with Omega. Earlier this year when his contract with NJPW was expiring, it was reported that Omega was weighing his options. Either to re-sign with NJPW or make the big move to WWE.

There were several fans that believed Omega was going to be a surprise entrant in this year’s Royal Rumble, but he ultimately decided to stay with New Japan for another year. Before he made his decision known publicly, Omega went on record by saying that he does want to have a match with AJ Styles at a future WrestleMania event.

Here is what Austin had to say (transcript courtesy of Rajah.com):

"Working his style, you've got to take that all into consideration. It's dog years once you start working that style all the time, but I'm not going to put a window on it, but I'm just saying like, I'm not here to book Kenny Omega or his next decision, what he's going to do, but just with respect to hey, in the big picture, as a corporate entity if WWE is going to gets there and has the ability to work with him, it's like, 'hey man, we'd rather have the kid at 34 than 39' and he says, 'hey, man, I'm just going to stay in New Japan finish the mission I started out here. I like the creative freedom. Do you know what? I can go to WWE and just relax at 39 or 40 because I can smoke most of these guys.' And that's with due respect. You don't want to come there too late."
