News recently broke that the Chicago Bulls and Dwyane Wade will reach a buyout agreement sometime in the next few months.

According to ESPN's Nick Friedell, "Dwyane Wade isn't long for the organization's future and is expected to reach a buyout agreement at some point in the next few months.”

After the Bulls traded away Jimmy Butler, it became obvious that a rebuild was in order. Therefore, Wade’s presence isn’t optimal for either side. Now the question becomes where he will end up playing after the buyout is eventually announced.

Heat captain Udonis Haslem began his career with the Heat in 2003, the same year as Wade, and on Thursday, he addressed the latest Wade buyout rumor on the local Miami radio station WQAM.

"I talk to D-Wade every day," Haslem said via Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel. ”My advice to D-Wade and his advice has always been to me is, 'Take it one day at a time. Just take it one day at a time, step by step.’”

Haslem and Wade won three championships together in Miami.

He continued, ”We kind of understand the direction that Chicago is going in. We kind of understand the direction that Dwyane wants to go in the last couple of years of his career. The business side of things sometimes doesn't always allow both sides to co-exist."

"My advice," Haslem said, "to him is, 'Hey, we'd love to have you, but take it one step at a time, take it one day at a time, and be involved with what's going on with your family. I think the situation with Chicago and everything that's going on, it's just a frustrating situation on both sides."

Although the idea of Wade returning to Miami is certainly exciting, it may not work considering the team’s current roster construction. After all, the team’s backcourt is currently crowded with Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson, Dion Waiters, Josh Richardson, Rodney McGruder and Wayne Ellington all signed through the upcoming season.

Plus, since the Heat have just $4.3 million of a mid-level exception to spend this season, the financial details stemming from the buyout amount from the Bulls could become complicated from Miami's perspective.

But, Wade was the face of the franchise during his time in Miami and even through the years when LeBron James and Chris Bosh joined up with him. He’s still beloved by the fan base and by every indication, he still has respect for the organization despite the fact that Pat Riley clearly didn’t handle his situation perfectly when Wade left the team in free agency last summer.

When he is bought out, it will be fascinating to see where he decides to sign. Will he return to Miami or will he join buddy LeBron James to create a superteam in the East to combat the Golden State Warriors? Or, will he sign somewhere else entirely and shock the world?
