Summer Slam 2017 is in the books and while a plethora of new champions were crowned, Big Cass got his own boost at the Barclays Center.

Cass overcame the injured big Show and managed to deliver a big boot to his old friend Enzo Amore once the Certified G escaped the shark cage hanging above the ring.

A big setback for Cass

The seven footer was victorious at Summer Slam and was then advertised for a Brooklyn Street Fight on RAW just 24 hours later.

Cass was taking on his former tag team partner once again in what was expected to be the end of their feud and he put in a strong performance against his fellow Brooklyn native.

It would all end badly for for Cass however as he would go on to lose when the match was stopped prematurely by medical staff.

Cass was the one receiving the medical treatment as he clearly injured his knee during the match.

The incident happened when the seven footer went to deliver a kick to Enzo who was stood on the ring apron but would instead pull down the ropes and send his opponent to the outside.

An awkward landing for Cass would leave him struggling to stand for the rest of the match and result in medical staff coming to the ring.

WWE published a report on the injury soon after with ringside physician Dr Chris Robinson evaluated the injury.

"It’s hard to tell what the extent of the injury is, but we’re going to send him to get an MRI tomorrow and figure that out,"

Cass will undergo an MRI scan on Tuesday and there will likely be an announcement from the company in the hours that follow.

End of a push

Ever since splitting from Enzo Amore, Cass has had some underwhelming feuds with Amore and Big Show.

He is rumoured to be set for a big push in the coming months, but this new set back could force those plans to be put on hold.

The company would naturally hope to have their seven foot superstar back sooner rather than later, but a lengthy lay off for Cass could give them the opportunity to bring him back in a completely new role.
