The main event for WrestleMania 34 may already be known, and it's probably what everybody was expecting.

Last year's Mania seemed to kick off the coronation of Roman Reigns as the new face of WWE, as he became the second man to ever defeat The Undertaker in WrestleMania competition. The first man to do the deed and break Taker's undefeated streak was Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, where he shocked the professional wrestling world. For years The Undertaker claimed the WWE ring as his 'yard,' however, as of late "The Big Dog" has now began to claim the same thing. With both men now earning major wins over "The Deadman," it's inevitable for them to meet one-on-one inside the ring and determine who's yard it really is.

Lesnar currently reigns as the WWE Universal Champion after defeating Goldberg at WrestleMania 33. Thus far he has successfully defended his title twice. The first coming in the main event of the Great Balls Of Fire pay-per-view (PPV) when he defeated Samoa Joe, although "The Destroyer" gave him quite the run for his money.

This past weekend (Sun. August 20, 2017) Lesnar successfully defended his title with the odds stacked heavily against him, as he was put in a Fatal Four-Way against three of the baddest men on Monday Night RAW; Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, and Samoa Joe. Despite getting carted off on a body board after what seemed to be a storyline injury, "The Beast" returned to pick up the win and regain his title.

On last night's episode of Monday Night RAW, it seemed as though the WWE was planting the seed for a massive match-up between Roman Reigns and John Cena down the road.

Dave Meltzer recently took to Wrestling Observer Radio to comment on the matter, and noted that as of right now the plan is still for Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns to main event WrestleMania 34 this upcoming April, with the Universal Champion presumably being on the line.

For the weeks leading up to the PPV, the SummerSlam main event possibilities ranged from Lesnar vs. Storwman, to Lesnar vs. Reigns, to the Fatal Four-Way that took place. Lesnar is currently scheduled to defend his Universal Title against Braun Strowman at No Mercy in five weeks.
