Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has earned himself a reputation as a joker on Twitter, cracking countless jokes since signing from Monaco in July.

Currently sidelined with injury, the 23-year-old France international signed a six-year deal with the club following a hugely impressive debut season at the Ligue 1 champions.

Signed by Monaco from Marseille for €15m in 2016, Mendy earned four international caps this season before securing a £52m transfer to England.

Manchester City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, said: “Benjamin has all the qualities we are looking for in a full-back. For such a young player, he has a wealth of top-level experience.

“He is undoubtedly one of the world’s best full-backs, our number one target in this position. We are all delighted to have him here at Manchester City."

Danilo has filled in at left-back in Mendy's early season absence but the Frenchman is expected to return to full training soon.

Funny interaction with Nando's

He's had numerous tweets go viral since joining the Premier League and today's was no exception.

Mendy was fined £60 for parking illegally outside Nando's this week and took to social media to share his frustration.

He parked his £250,000 Ferrari in a taxi rank in Manchester's city centre for over an hour.

The new Manchester City man shared photos on Twitter and urged the Portuguese restaurant to add some parking spaces.

Nando's tweeted the young Frenchman back, including a photo of a personalised special parking spot for the social media wizard.

Mendy claims he'll follow in Adnan Januzaj's footsteps by taking his next date to their establishment.
