You may have woken up this morning and realised that the draw for the Carabao Cup has been made.It was made in the middle of the night, bizarrely taking place in Beijing, China.Football fans hardly get excited about the competition - widely known as the League Cup - at the best of times so you couldn’t really expect them to stay up and watch this draw. And it wasn’t a particularly interesting draw at that.Leicester vs Liverpool is probably the stand-out tie as the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham got relatively easy-looking home draws against Doncaster Rovers, Nottingham Forest and Barnsley/Derby County respectively.

Why Twitter thinks the draw was rigged

But football fans noticed something strange about Manchester United drawing Burton Albion at home.

What’s so strange about the holders drawing the Championship side, you may ask.

Well, many people believe it was fixed.

Why?

Because Carabao posted the graphics for the tie far too quickly.

Twitter reacts

Just take a look at the reaction on Twitter:

Here is the video of the draw which seems to suggest that nothing untoward actually happened:

People are so suspicious these days…

Of course, United fans probably don’t care too much about the draw for this competition despite being the holders.

That’s because there’s a far more important draw taking place on Thursday.

After Jose Mourinho guided the Red Devils to Europa League glory, they qualified for the Champions League.

But UEFA better not post the graphics for the draw to quickly onto Twitter or else there will be plenty of people accusing them of rigging it.
