There was an ugly ending to Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth when Man City players and fans clashed with home stewards.Raheem Sterling gave Pep Guardiola’s side all three points and the winger was sent off after he celebrated exuberantly with the travelling supporters.Sterling scored in the 97th-minute and was joined by his teammates as he celebrated with Man City’s fans. Stewards and the police attempted to calm the situation and it is in the melee that Sergio Aguero has been accused of striking a steward.Police have taken a statement from the steward but City officials are confident that Aguero has no case to answer to.In another statement, police revealed that two male supporters were arrested following the incident at the Vitality Stadium.“The goal was followed by excited celebrations where a number of Manchester City supporters encroached on to the pitch,” the statement read.“Two male spectators from Manchester were arrested as a result. No other arrests have been made in relation to this incident.”New footage of the incident has been posted on Twitter and it appears to show Aguero was actually sticking up for the fan who was pinned to the floor.

Aguero has tweeted about the incident

The Argentinian striker has since tweeted in an attempt to clear his name.

Aguero wrote: “Great win today! On this story about their steward, I did not hit anyone, this allegation is false, and the tv pictures prove it. C´mon City.”

It’s hard to see any more coming out of this, especially given the footage that is circulating on social media.

Guardiola was angry with Sterling's red

Guardiola was incensed following Sterling’s red card, which means he will miss the home match against Liverpool on September 9.

"I don't understand, maybe someone can call me and explain. I don't understand,” he told Sky Sports, per Goal.

"He went there to celebrate, then he came back, so I don't know what happened. I would like to know because now Raheem won't be able to play against Liverpool.

"We cannot celebrate our feelings with our fans? Tell me the reason why. Maybe we should play with no fans."

So his side may have picked up three points, in dramatic fashion, but it was still an extremely stressful afternoon for Guardiola.
