The Utah Jazz will be beginning life after Gordon Hayward next season and are hoping they have put together a strong duo that can help them combat his loss.
The Jazz traded for Ricky Rubio this summer and the franchise wants him to build around a tandem of him and Rudy Gobert.
The center will be the team's leader next year and will assume more responsibility on both ends of the floor due to Hayward's departure.
The Stifle Tower is already one of the elite defenders in the league and was named second in the Defensive Player of the Year voting and on the All-Defensive First Team.
Gobert has already confirmed that head coach Quinn Snyder is looking to get him more involved offensively in the next campaign and with the passing ability of Rubio, he should be able to be more productive on that end.
The Frenchman averaged 14.0 points, 12.8 rebounds and a league-leading 2.6 blocks per game - which were all career-highs.
With the Minnesota Timberwolves, Rubio averaged a career-best 9.1 assists last season and his ability to get the ball to players in their favourite spots will hugely benefit Gobert.
Despite never playing with the big man, the point guard has apparently lavished some huge praise on him recently.
In an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, Gobert said: "We're really excited to play with each other. He (Rubio) told me he's never played with a guy who can finish like me."
It's a huge compliment from the former Timberwolves star but a slightly strange one as Gobert is not renowned for his finishing around the rim.
A large chunk of his points come from alley-oop dunks and putbacks as the Utah offence rarely went through him.
It's also a surprising thing for Rubio to say as he's played with two of the league's most skilled big men in Minnesota; Kevin Love and most recently Karl-Anthony Towns.
KAT, in particular, may feel disappointed with that comment as he put up 25.1 points and 12.3 rebounds this past season and was a big reason why Rubio had a career-high in assists.
But, of course, the Spaniard is no longer with the T-Wolves and his focus is on making his new teammates better and those words already seem to have motivated Gobert.
Utah will struggle to match the heights they reached last year as they won 51 games, but they'll be looking to their new European duo to help them remain competitive and return to the playoffs.
