Barring Kyrie Irving's trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics, one of the biggest trades of this NBA offseason was Paul George from the Indiana Pacers to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

George was traded to the Thunder in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis and will play the last year of his contract there before potentially becoming a free agent and moving to another team next summer.

Many believe this next team for the four-time NBA All-Star will be the Los Angeles Lakers, as he was heavily linked with a trade there before he eventually landed in Oklahoma, but that trade never materialized.

However, the forward has given Thunder a little bit a hope that he is going to be there for the long haul, as he spoke about his NBA future alongside Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green at the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor weigh-in on Friday, according to SB Nation.

Speaking about possibly joining the Lakers next offseason, George was non-committal as he wants to give Oklahoma his best to see where it could possibly lead to.

"We’ll see," George said. "I’m a Thunder, and my job is to give them the best I have this year and see what happens after that."

If the Thunder end up going on a deep playoff run this season, there very well could be a good chance that George ends up staying with them and signing a new deal, rather than moving out to Los Angeles.

Even if Oklahoma fails to go on a deep playoff run, there's still a chance he could stay with the team because of the ongoing investigation of the Pacers accusing the Lakers and president of basketball operations Magic Johnson of tampering with George while he was still with his previous team.

If those allegations are proved to be true, there is a possibility that the Lakers would not be able to sign George in free agency next summer.
