Arsenal have received criticism from all angles after Sunday's horror show, but we shouldn't let that take away from just how good Liverpool were.

Despite only having 48% possession, the Reds produced a fabulous display of fast-flowing attacking football to thrash Arsene Wenger's side 4-0 at Anfield.

The massive victory came courtesy of goals from Liverpool's new front three; Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, before Daniel Sturridge got on the scoresheet late on too.

Lots have people have questioned Liverpool's defence, however Arsenal failed to register a single shot on target, even though Loris Karius was making his first league start of 2017.

The Merseyside club's recent performances have got lots of people from talking, from fans to pundits, and even a certain World Cup winner.

Liverpool's 2017-18 campaign so far

The 3-3 draw at Watford on the opening Premier League weekend means that it hasn't been a 100% perfect start, but things have been extremely good since then.

Jurgen Klopp's side got a vital away win against Hoffenheim before beating Crystal Palace in the type of match they struggled to get maximum points in last season.

They then secured Champions League qualification with a 4-2 home win on Wednesday and followed that up with the devastating 4-0 defeat of Arsenal.

Liverpool could be a force to reckon with both domestically and in Europe this term, and their impressive momentum has caught the eye of Mats Hummels.

Hummels reacts to latest Liverpool win

15 minutes into the second half of the Arsenal clash, with the score at 3-0, the Bayern Munich star was asked by a fan on Twitter whether or not he was watching the match.

Then, literally seconds before Sturridge made it 4-0, Hummels replied to let people know that he had tuned in to the game and he also revealed his thoughts on Liverpool's current run of form.

As you can see in Hummels' tweet below, he has clearly been impressed by the team managed by Klopp, who worked successfully with the 28-year-old for years at Borussia Dortmund.

Given how good Hummels is, you can imagine that Liverpool fans loved his tweet. The vast majority of them reacted in exactly the same way - check out what some said below:

Hummels, who moved to Bayern last summer, has played every game for the German champions so far this season, even scoring a goal against minnows Chemnitzer FC in the DFB Pokal Cup.

With the Virgil van Dijk saga unresolved and concerns over Dejan Lovren, how Liverpool fans would love a centre-back of the quality of Hummels at Anfield.

The Reds will look to pick up where they've left off after the international break when they travel to Manchester City before hosting Sevilla in the Champions League.
