So one of the most intriguing transfer sagas of the summer has boiled down to the final day.Liverpool fans are all asking themselves the same question: will Philippe Coutinho become a Barcelona player? As if things weren't complicated enough already, although the English transfer window closes later tonight, the Spanish equivalent is actually open for a further 24 hours so the Catalans could, in theory, still purchase the Brazilian international tomorrow.Barcelona have already seen a couple of big bids rejected by the Reds over the last month but that hasn't deterred their interest in the 25-year-old.Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp isn't exactly sitting on his hands today either.Liverpool are expected to complete the signing of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal very shortly are are still keen on Thomas Lemar and Virgil van Dijk. And there will be plenty of supporters on Merseyside who, while delighted by this late summer spree, will be apprehensive that it could indicate Coutinho's departure is inevitable.According to Guillem Balague from Sky Sports, Barcelona have been closing monitoring Liverpool's transfer business and are feeling more confident they can get the Coutinho deal across the line. The Reds' stance on their star man's future, however, appears to be unchanged.Balague tweeted: "1. FCB think signing of The Ox, and negotiations for Lemar/Van Djik show LFC will accept a new offer 4 Cout. (not arrived yet), but..."2. LFC insist signings nothing to do with Coutinho, not for sale. (If) new offer, will be rejected. They consistent with message throughout."

Barcelona usually secure their transfer targets one way or another but since selling Neymar to PSG for £200m earlier this summer, have found agreements with other clubs much harder to achieve.

Ernesto Valverde has been able to bring in Ousmane Dembele but will feel far more confident about his team's chances this season if Liverpool's resolve can be broken and Coutinho joins too.

But as with any deadline day, unexpected twists and turns can happen at any minute. That's why we love it!
