Paris Saint-Germain have been the summer's big spenders thanks to the world record Neymar deal and the imminent capture of Kylian Mbappe.
The Brazilian swapped the Nou Camp for the Parc des Princes in a £198million switch, while Mbappe will initially be joining on loan with an option to buy for £166m in a year's time.
All that means the Qatari-backed club really needs to balance the books to conform to some semblance of Financial Fair Play.
Even if they've made a complete mockery of the regulations so far, last season's Ligue 1 runners-up are looking to offload a few players - and particularly attackers who will no longer be able to get regular playing time.
Julian Draxler is one such forward. The 23-year-old was a wanted man when he left Wolfsburg in 2016, yet he has now fallen down the pecking order having scored just four league goals last term.
Arsenal have been heavily linked as they come to terms with the reality that Alexis Sanchez may be on his way to Manchester City before tonight's deadline.
Nothing is going to prepare Gunners fans for the moment that deal is announced, if City can indeed get it over the line. Perhaps bringing in Draxler would be one way to placate them.
However, his international boss, Germany coach Joachim Low has poured cold water on those hopes by revealing PSG have already made a decision.
Low has big news
"I know for a fact that Paris don't want to sell him," he's quoted by the Daily Mail.
"They are convinced of his outstanding qualities.
"He made such a big step forward there. I am convinced that he will come out on top at Paris. By now, he's already playing a big role for us."
With the World Cup in Russia now less than a year away, Low will no doubt be keeping a keen eye on how he gets on if he does stay in the French capital.
It looks more likely that Arsenal will turn to Thomas Lemar as Sanchez's replacement.
Guillem Balague has tweeted an update on that situation, suggesting the Gunners have told City they need a few more hours to wrap up a deal for the Monaco winger before allowing their star man to go.
