It's funny to think that Liverpool fans were slamming Jurgen Klopp for not signing more players not so long ago.Earlier this month, having only signed Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson and Dominic Solanke, the German insisted he was "happy" with his squad."If the transfer window would have ended yesterday we already would have a team which I like and could play football with," he said."In this moment it is still a good team. We will see what happens. I cannot change the answer because I don't know."Klopp did, however, admit transfer deadline day would be very busy for the club - and he wasn't wrong."A few things can happen on both sides but everything leads in the direction of August 31," Klopp added. "I can imagine it will be a busy day."Liverpool, alongside Arsenal, have been the busiest Premier League club on deadline day, having signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for £35 million.Further signings are expected before the window closes at 11pm, with Thomas Lemar and Virgil van Dijk top targets for the Reds. And then there's the small matter of Philippe Coutinho's future, with Barcelona set to make an improved offer of €160 million for the Brazilian playmaker. What Liverpool fans want most from deadline day, though, is the signing of Southampton centre-back Van Dijk. The Dutchman has been linked with a move to Anfield all summer and despite receiving various set backs, Liverpool are still trying to strike a deal.Time is running out, but it would appear a move could be close following Jamie Carragher's bombshell on Sky Sports News.In the video below, Carragher, after being interrupted by breaking news involving Jack Wilshere and Birmingham City, says Van Dijk joining Liverpool tonight will be the real breaking news.

"Jamie we're just going to interrupt this little chat with you for just a moment," is what David Garrido told Carragher. "We'll come back to you but we have breaking news from Kaveh Solhekol, Kaveh."

To which Carragher responded moments later: "First of all, cutting me off for Jack Wilshere going to Birmingham on loan as breaking news, that's not breaking news.

"Virgil van Dijk going to Liverpool will be breaking news later on tonight."

Does Carragher know something? Who knows, but his comments have sent fans into meltdown on Twitter, as you can see in the below reaction.
