Even though LeBron James's free agency decision won't happen until next summer, it's already dominating the headlines across the NBA.

In fact, according to reports, it's a big reason Cleveland Cavaliers star point guard Kyrie Irving asked to be traded, as he's unsure of LeBron's future in Cleveland.

Many rumors have King James connected to the Los Angeles Lakers, but NBA insider Chris Broussard has a different suggestion for the superstar forward.

In an appearance on FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd's show, Broussard suggests that LeBron should sign with the San Antonio Spurs next offseason if he wants to win more titles:

"[A]s it stands right now, as the landscape is, and what we can tell at this point, if LeBron leaves Cleveland, and if it is all about winning, which it should be - it shouldn't be about Hollywood, being a movie star, building your brand and your business," he said. "He's got all that already, and can have it when he retires. If it's about winning, go to San Antonio. There's only one place to go if you leave Cleveland and you want to win championships - San Antonio.

"With Kawhi [Leonard], LeBron, and [coach Gregg] Popovich, I would put them - if LeBron went there, I would put them right even with the Golden State Warriors."

The Spurs were swept by the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals last year, so adding a superstar like LeBron to the mix would certainly give them a big boost.

In the NBA today, it's all about gearing up to try to compete with the Golden State Warriors, and Broussard thinks LeBron, Leonard and the Spurs could do just that:

"[F]irst of all, San Antonio was close already this year with just one star in Kawhi," he said. "Give them LeBron and they can compete with the Warriors - maybe even beat them."

Obviously, a lot would have to happen for LeBron to head to Texas, but if he'd consider signing with the Spurs, the team would be silly not to try to make room for him.

Yes, he and Leonard play the same position, but in today's NBA, James could shift to the 4 while Leonard mans the 3, or vice versa.

The Spurs don't usually make huge free agency splashes, and the recent signing of LaMarcus Aldridge may have soured them on that process a bit more, but any time you can go out and land a player like LeBron James, you have to at least give it a shot.
