Kazuchika Okada is a well-respected wrestler in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The IWGP Heavyweight Champion has risen up the ranks in NJPW and is truly the face of the company. Although you have outsiders from Japan wrestling in the promotion such as members of the Bullet Club like Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, and The Young Bucks. There has been one staple of the promotion and that is Okada.

Okada has been named number one in the 27th annual "PWI 500.” This marks the first time a Japanese wrestler has ever been given the top spot by the magazine's writers and editors.

Okada held the IWGP championship throughout the entire evaluation period, July 31, 2016 to June 30, 2017. Okada has been in the "PWI 500's" top 10 for four of the past five years, including a second-place finish last year.

The "PWI 500" is available for purchase in print and digital formats at pwi-online.com. 2017 has been a good for him as he has had classic matches with several talents. Most notably with Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom in January. In fact, the two stars have had two classic matches with each other this year that has received some major praise from fans and fellow wrestlers for not only the psychology in the match but his selling as well

Okada was interviewed by the magazine and during the interview, he was asked about possibly joining WWE. This has been a hot topic over the years. Many fans believe that Okada should be in WWE right now. Here is what he had to say:

“It’s not something I think about,” Okada said. “New Japan is far superior to WWE when it comes to the quality of the roster and the quality of the matches. One thing I will say is that I do pay attention to what Finn Balor, AJ, and Nakamura are doing, and they look like they’re having fun. I might want to wrestle them again someday, but I might want to do that in New Japan. Hell, I might want to be like some other people and become a movie star or join the UFC. You never know.”
