The Boston Celtics' summer has finally been fully realized, with the franchise introducing their two new stars Friday in Boston.Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving were officially introduced as Celtics, a huge moment for the organization. The Irving trade was finalized days ago, and Kyrie has kept quiet on the situation up until this point. Finally, he had his chance to open up about being traded. Irving requesting a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers was one of the most surprising scenarios of the summer, with the star point guard entering the prime of his career on a team that's enjoyed three straight NBA Finals runs. More shocking, perhaps, is the Cavaliers gave a conference rival a franchise player. Kryie is clearly excited about what the future holds for him in Boston, ready to be a part of something bigger than the individual talents on the team. He alluded to cherishing the chance to be a part of a team that isn't about any single talent multiple times during the conference. "My intent is to be happy and be with a group of individuals I can grow with. That's not a knock on Cleveland," Irving said as he began discussing his excitement and expectations going forward as a member of the Celtics. "There is no one player, it's about team. No such thing as putting a team on your shoulders," Irving added.

The Celtics, led by head coach Brad Stevens' strategic prowess, are viewed as a team that's about the sum of its parts more than the parts of its sum. Whether this is an allusion to how Irving felt things played out in Cleveland remains up for interpretation.

"I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself and woo, when Boston came a-knocking, I was answer," Kyrie said on his thoughts when he realized a future with the Celtics was on the table.

All of these signs are great for Boston, with Kyrie excited to be a part of a culture focused on the team executing together. At times, there's no question Cleveland leaned far-heavier on its star players leading them. It was enough to land the Cavaliers at least one title, and nobody expected them to beat the Golden State Warriors with Kevin Durant on board.

Whatever the case may be, Kyrie is pumped to play basketball the Celtics way. Next season is going to be fascinating to watch for Boston.
