WWE officials are planning on loading up the card for Hell in a Cell.

We already know the main event for the WWE Hell in a Cell PPV event. Jinder Mahal successfully retained the WWE Title over Shinsuke Nakamura thanks to outside interference from the Singh Brothers at SummerSlam.

On a recent episode of SmackDown Live, Nakamura defeated the Singh Brothers in a handicap match. After the match, Nakamura laid out the WWE Champion with a Kinshasa. It’s been reported that WWE plans on having Mahal vs. Nakamura for the WWE Title at the Hell in a Cell PPV.

Although WWE’s next pay-per-view event takes place next month, it’s a Raw exclusive show that will be headlined by Brock Lesnar defending the WWE Universal Title against Braun Strowman. On the SmackDown front, they will have to wait a month.

The Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event takes place on October 8th, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan at the Little Caesars Arena and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. This will be an exclusive SmackDown Live brand event.

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez noted on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that a match Kevin Owens and SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon could happen at the Hell in a Cell PPV. By looking back on history, WWE typically books more than one match inside the actual Cell at WWE’s annual October show, and whether or not Shane vs. Owens actually takes place inside the Cell remains to be seen.

Meltzer and Alvarez also noted that the feud may lead to a Survivor Series match, where each man captains their own team.

So there you have it. The two main events of the upcoming Hell in a Cell PPV will be Mahal defending the WWE Title against Nakamura in a Hell in a Cell match and possibly McMahon vs. Owens. WWE needs to be careful because they would back themselves into a corner by booking two cage matches in such a short amount of time.

You would also have to Mahal sneak the Singh Brothers into the actual structure. It’s likely that WWE will put the brothers under the ring and come out during the main event in order to help Mahal.
