Eric Bischoff is not too happy with the was the WWE is handling 205 Live thus far.
Shortly after SmackDown Live each week a new program has been added to the WWE Network - 205 Live. The program shows off the smaller men of the WWE who go to work inside the squared circle to show off their technicality inside the ring. Currently, the division is run by Cruiserweight Champion Neville who has reigned supreme over his fellow cruiserweights for some time now. The division has recently welcomed a new member, however, who is sure to be in the title picture a lot sooner rather than later.
Enzo Amore doesn't seem to have a WWE or Universal Championship run in his WWE future anytime soon, so it seems as though the company is allowing him to pursue the next best thing instead. Amore recently broke up with longtime tag team partner Big Cass, who turned heel by attacking Amore and ending their friendship.
He now competes on 205 Live and has been residing on the program for the past few weeks now. Recently, former Monday Night RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff took to his podcast, Bischoff On Wrestling, to comment on his disappointment for how WWE has been handling the program, claiming he doesn't think Amore will impact the division very much (quotes via WrestleZone):
"No. They missed the mark on the cruiserweight division twenty minutes after they launched it because they haven’t really defined what it is. Defining a division based on a weight class is not going to resonate with the audience.
"It has to be a style differentiation. The matches have to look like and feel different than the rest of their content. Otherwise it’s just a match with lighter guys.
"It doesn’t mean anything. I think they have been missing the mark with 205 Live since they launched it. I think they’ll continue to miss the mark and I don’t think Enzo, or anyone else, will have any impact on the success or failure of that division."
