Ornstein provides big update on Twitter

BBC journalist David Ornstein is considered the oracle when it comes to Arsenal news.

He delivered a very detailed update on Twitter early on Monday morning which cleared up a lot of disputable points.

Gooners have been struggling to comprehend Wenger's calamitous summer in the transfer market and Ornstein has provided some useful insights.

The four who asked to leave

Ornstein revealed that four players asked to leave the club this summer.

Fans knew that Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sanchez wanted to leave the club but were not aware that Hector Bellerin and Shkodran Mustafi also asked to leave.

Bellerin, 22, was being linked with a return to his boyhood club Barcelona despite an underwhelming season which resulted in him losing his position to Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Signed from Valencia last summer, Mustafi failed to impose himself in the Arsenal back-line and was wanted by Inter Milan.

Sanchez, Bellerin and Mustafi are all expected to be heavily involved in the first team this season but do they even want to be there?

Arsenal fans react on Twitter

Arsenal Twitter are a pretty rowdy bunch and they've reacted in their droves to Ornstein's interesting update.

Bellerin and Mustafi may receive a frosty reception when Arsenal host Bournemouth at the Emirates this weekend.
