Darlington defender Andrew Milne is expected to return to Leeds after his loan spell with the Quakers was cut short through injury.

The teenager was stretchered off just before half-time in the weekend's 5-0 defeat at Torquay after sustaining an ankle injury and is likely to be sidelined for several weeks.

Milne, 19, who made his first appearance in the home defeat to Bradford the previous week, was due to return to Elland Road in early January.

Darlington suffered a further injury blow at Torquay when experienced defender Mark Bower was also forced off with an ankle injury.

Manager Steve Staunton now faces an early selection headache for next weekend's home game with Northampton as central defenders Steve Foster (foot) - sidelined over a contractual dispute anyway - Ian Miller (hamstring) and Bower are all injured.
