WWE has written The Big Show off of television and did it in a great way.As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Omaha, NE at the CenturyLink Center, Braun Strowman defeated The Big Show in a Steel Cage match in the main event. After the match, Strowman power slammed Show through the cage, which part of it broke to close the show. The former WWE Champion has truly been a staple of the sports entertainment company since he decided to join them in 1999 after getting his big break while under the WCW (World Championship Wrestling) banner. After being with the company for nearly 20-years, the veteran has racked up some major accomplishments during his career which will no doubt earn him a spot in the sports entertainment company’s Hall of Fame. He has won the WWE Title twice, WWE's World Heavyweight Championship twice and the ECW World Championship once.Show has also found success in the tag team division, having been an 11-time world tag team champion, holding World, WWE and WCW World Tag Team Championships multiple times with various tag team partners. Having also been Intercontinental, United States, and Hardcore Champion during his career. The reason for this spot was to write Show off of television due to him undergoing hip surgery soon. By looking back at the match, Show seemed to be favoring his hip as they went off the air and apparently he wasn’t just selling a kayfabe injury. James McKenna of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported the news via Twitter. It should be noted McKenna’s tweet was sent out a couple of hours before the main event, so the surgery was something that was already planned. As of this writing, there’s still no word yet on how long the former WWE Champion will be out of action but his time in WWE as a full-time performer is limited. His WWE contract expires in 2018, and he is looking at getting into acting. On behalf of the Give Me Sport team, we wish him a speedy recovery.“Just a fyi - hearing big show is getting surgery for a slight hip issue very very soon. expect a braun mauling finish tonight. #RAW.”
