Under fire Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger spoke to the press today ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.The Gunners - currently lying 16th in the table - have suffered successive humiliating defeats away at Stoke City and Liverpool.Wenger failed to secure Champions League football last season and early signs suggest the veteran French manager will struggle to do so again.Off the pitch things aren't going so well in North London either after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain refused to sign a new deal and forced a Deadline Day move to Liverpool.Meanwhile, star players Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil both have less than 12 months remaining on their current deal at the Emirates and could leave on free transfers next summer.Arsenal fans have been slowly losing patience with Wenger over the last few years and Arsenal FanTV is a great representation of that.Wenger signed a two-year contract extension after beating Chelsea in the FA Cup final in May but fans are already calling for him to leave.The legendary Premier League manager has spent more than 20 years at Arsenal but recently claimed PSG sounded him out over a possible switch to Ligue 1.Speaking to reporters today, the 67-year-old coach was asked to comment on the growing frustration amongst fans at the Emirates."You [the media] work very hard to get our fans on our back." said Wenger. "And you do that very well."I believe our fans are naturally with us."Situations like this are very good opportunities to show that we are strong, united and decided."It's worth pointing out that Arsenal fans have the most expensive tickets of all Premier League clubs.Many in the media - including former players like Ian Wright and Tony Adams - are criticising Wenger at the moment but perhaps he should recognise why it is that they are criticising him.
