Cardiff City are prepared to offer fans the chance to watch Premier League football for free.

In return for buying their season tickets for the 2010/11 season in advance, fans will be reimbursed should the club gain promotion. City boss Dave Jones came up with the novel idea to give him some funds for the January transfer window.

Chairman Peter Ridsdale, who is eyeing a £3m boost to the transfer kitty through the scheme, said: "We are in the best position to earn promotion than for many a year.

"We need to know where we are coming from in terms of money available to spend on players. Money in now will allow us to spend. We will back Dave."
