Huge possible trade coming between RAW and SmackDown Live

WWE could be set to pull off one of the biggest trades the company has ever seen.

Since the WWE brand split in 2016 WWE Superstars have remained exclusive to their respective brands, Monday Night RAW or SmackDown Live, as fan-favorite former Superstars have been appointed as brand General Managers. WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle serves as the GM of Monday Night RAW, while former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan is GM of SmackDown Live.

Things have been going rather well on WWE TV as of late, with the title pictures on both sides booming. RAW features a Universal Championship feud between Brock Lesnar and No. 1-contender Braun Strowman. SmackDown Live hosts a rivalry between WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and Shinsuke Nakamura.

While both feuds are interesting ones, they have resulted in other top stars being left out of deserved title opportunities as well. On SmackDown Live, Randy Orton has exited the WWE Title picture and has been working with Rusev as of late.

On Monday Night RAW top stars such as Finn Balor and Samoa Joe, both fan favorites, have also been outside the title hunt as well. It's tough for a good title feud to get going on RAW due to Brock Lesnar's part-time status.

All three men would be great candidates for World Title feuds, and they could get their respective opportunities if traded to their opposite brands. Per a recent edition of the Solomonster Sounds Off show, a trade proposal was made seeing former WWE Champion Randy Orton be sent to RAW in exchange for either Samoa Joe or Finn Ballor.

Joe and Balor would instantly be top candidates to feud with either Jinder Mahal or current No. 1-contender Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship. Orton to RAW would be another top veteran face to enter the Universal Championship picture, and perhaps even another notable face to feud with Roman Reigns as WWE grooms him to become the next face of the company.

If the WWE does decide to make this trade down the line, it would be a great decision for both parties involved.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of Orton being swapped or either Samoa Joe or Finn Balor? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
