Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has agreed a new 12-month rolling contract with the club.

Hodgson has been rewarded for guiding Fulham to seventh place in the Barclays Premier League last season - their highest top-flight finish - and for a strong start to the current campaign.

"I'm delighted to have committed my future to Fulham for the years to come," said Hodgson.

Fulham appeared destined for relegation when Hodgson arrived in late December 2007 following a disastrous spell in charge for Lawrie Sanchez.

Survival was not guaranteed until a 1-0 victory over Portsmouth on the final day of the season but over the next 12 months Hodgson transformed the club's fortunes. Last season they qualified for the inaugural Europa League and have since secured a last-32 tie against Shakhtar Donetsk.

They currently sit ninth in the Premier League with wins against Liverpool and Manchester United in the bank and pundits have been queuing up to shower praise on Hodgson.

"I have always stated my desire to remain at the club and continue the good work that has been achieved over the past two years," added Hodgson.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the chairman, the fans and staff at the club for the faith they have shown in me during my time at Fulham.

"I would also like to thank the club's fans for the outstanding support they have shown the team in recent years, both at the Cottage and on our travels in the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League.

"We will of course continue to work tirelessly to ensure that continued success is enjoyed on the pitch in the years to come."
