After their recent results, the only thing Liverpool wanted from their Premier League trip to Leicester was three points.
It seems a long time ago that the Reds thrashed Arsenal 4-0. Since then, they’ve lost 5-0 to Manchester City, drawn at home to Seville in the Champions League and at home to Burnley in the league before crashing out of the League Cup to Saturday’s opponents - Leicester.
A second loss to the Foxes in the space of four days and Liverpool would be on the brink of a crisis.
A win no matter how it comes was very much on the agenda - and that was the case at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.
But it looked as though Jurgen Klopp’s men would ease to a comfortable three points after Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho put them 2-0 ahead inside 23 minutes.
But Shinji Okazaki’s controversial goal from a corner in first-half injury-time set up an interesting second-half.
Leicester pushed for an equaliser as the game wore on but Liverpool caught them on the break as Jordan Henderson finished calmly after Daniel Sturridge’s pass.
It made it 3-1 with 20 minutes remaining.
Not where Liverpool are concerned.
Liverpool never like to do it the easy way and within seconds, Jamie Vardy made it 3-2.
Then, minutes later, Vardy had the ball on the penalty spot ready to make it 3-3 after he was brought down by Simon Mignolet.
But before he took his penalty, Henderson had a little word with him.
While we couldn’t quite see the incident we could hear the boos from the home crowd as Henderson tried to get into Vardy’s head.
And whilst commentating on the game, BT Sport's Darren Fletcher said: “Little word off the ball there, between the Liverpool captain Henderson and Jamie Vardy - the two England teammates"
And whatever Henderson worked as Mignolet stayed rooted to the spot as Vardy smashed the ball straight at him.

Maybe Vardy needs to change his penalty method because goalkeepers are clearly starting to realise his tactic.News Now - Sport News
