Arnold Schwarzenegger visited Barcelona this weekend for the second consecutive year to run his bodybuilding event 'Arnold Classic Europe'.

The 70-year-old Austrian-American – best known for his roles in The Terminator film series – was presented with his own Barca shirt.

Schwarzenegger took a tour of the Camp Nou facilities ahead of the 3-0 La Liga win away at newly-promoted Girona.

The former Governor of California had some kind words to say about the Catalan giants.

"Barca have an amazing history, and the football they play is incredible," said Schwarzenegger.

"There are so many talented players here at the Camp Nou, and seeing all the trophies and videos of these great victories is a real joy."

Schwarzenegger spoke about Messi to a Spanish newspaper on Saturday and delivered the perfect description of the footballing legend.

"Messi is the football Terminator," said Schwarzenegger to Mundo Deportivo. "We can say that."

Barcelona supporters absolutely loved Schwarzenegger's description of the club's greatest ever player.

Fans on Twitter were quickly circulating images depicting Messi in the famous role of The Terminator.

Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba spoke about his amazing teammate following the 3-0 win over Girona in which Messi was man-marked by Manchester City loanee Pablo Maffeo.

"Man-marking on Messi?" said the 28-year-old after the away win.

"It doesn’t matter whether you put one or two men on him, with the quality he has, he can leave anyone behind.

"If we talk about Leo, it’s clear that ultimately, he’s very difficult to stop."
