Cesaro had a rough night, to say the least.

As seen at Sunday’s WWE No Mercy pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, CA at the Staples Center on the WWE Network, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins successfully defended the Raw Tag Team Titles over Cesaro and Sheamus. During the match, Cesaro took a bump into the ring post and lost his front teeth.

Prior to signing with WWE, Cesaro was previously known for his work in Ring of Honor (ROH), various independent promotions including Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), and the Japan-based Pro Wrestling Noah. He was a two-time ROH World Tag Team Champion with his partner Chris Hero as The Kings of Wrestling three-time WWE Tag Team Champion with his partner Tyson Kidd as part of their team and his reigns with Sheamus as the Raw Tag Team Champions. In September 2011, he signed a contract with WWE and began working in its developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).

Cesaro made his WWE television debut on the April 20, 2012 episode of SmackDown by appearing in a backstage segment with Aksana and Theodore Long.

Cesaro has also had success as a singles wrestler, having won the WWE's United States Championship and the inaugural André the Giant Memorial Trophy at WrestleMania 30 along with numerous independent singles titles, such as the PWG World Championship.

As seen in the match, Cesaro continued to wrestle despite blood coming out of his mouth and eventually taking a Brogue Kick from Sheamus. As a result of his toughness, he earned praise from fans and fellow wrestlers. After the match, Cesaro took to Twitter to comment on the incident. WWE also released this video of doctors checking on Cesaro, who needed 3 stitches to close a wound.

He will also be undergoing emergency dental work. He wrote on his official Twitter account, “Anybody know a good dentist? Isaac Yankem DDS? This is not over. Still #TheBar @wwesheamus #WWENoMercy.”

It will be interesting to see where Cesaro and Sheamus go from here. The sports entertainment company could always book another match that would see Cesaro and Sheamus challenge Ambrose and Rollins for the Raw Tag Team Titles at the upcoming TLC PPV event next month. Time will tell how all of this shakes out.
