The Chicago Bulls and Dwyane Wade finally came to a buyout agreement on Sunday placing him on the open market and a chance to land on a championship-contending team. With the Bulls heading for a rebuild, Wade made it clear he didn't want to be part of that process at this stage of his career and wants to compete for a title before he calls it a day.The 35-year-old already has multiple suitors with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat all interested. At this stage, the Cavs are considered to be the favourites to land him due to his close relationship with LeBron James.Wade is expected to make a decision this week and his former teammate has already made it clear that he will attempt to convince him to head to Cleveland."I would love to have D-Wade a part of this team," James said. "I think he brings another championship DNA, championship pedigree. He brings another playmaker to the team who can get guys involved, and make plays, and also just has a great basketball mind."I think it would be great to have him here. ... I've talked to D-Wade throughout the whole summer, and I probably will reach out to him as well, but it's really not up to me. It's up to D-Wade if he can clear waivers and then it's up to our front office. But I hope that we can bring him here. I would love to have him."The All-Star duo spent four years together with the Miami Heat and won two championships together during a successful period.According to veteran NBA reporter David Aldridge, there is a strong belief around the league that Wade will sign with the Ohio-based franchise.

The Cavaliers can only offer him a minimum contract worth $2.3 million, but having accepted a buyout deal worth around $16m with Chicago, the shooting guard isn't short on money and knows he must be willing to take a small deal to play for a contender.

With J.R. Smith, Kyle Korver and Iman Shumpert currently occupying the two-guard positions for the franchise, the arrival of the three-time champion could see one of them offloaded, most likely the latter.

The former Finals MVP is entering his 15th season in the league but proved he can still be productive last season as he averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 60 games with the Bulls.
