The women's division on SmackDown Live is about to get a whole lot more competitive, as the return of former WWE Divas Champion Paige draws near.

Paige began her professional wrestling career back in 2005 when she began working the European indie circuit, but had been learning the ropes long before that as she was born into a wrestling family. After six years of working the indies Paige began doing work for Shimmer Women Athletes in 2011, before being discovered and signed by WWE that same year.

She was sent to WWE's then-developmental territory of Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) where she remained until it was rebranded into what we all know today as NXT.

In NXT Paige had a tremendous amount of success, being one of a few women who really stood out in the brand to show something special, en route to winning the NXT Women's Championship. In April of 2014 Paige made her main roster debut on the Monday Night RAW after WrestleMania 30.

Paige challenged then-WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee to an impromptu match, which Paige shockingly won and captured the Divas Championship. Due to the fact that she was now the Divas Champion, Paige was forced to vacate the NXT Women's Title she never lost now that she would no longer be able to defend it - ending her 274 day reign.

In the years after her amazing debut, Paige still managed to lead a fairly successful run on the main roster before being out-shined by the NXT newcomers of the Women's Revolution such as Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss, Bayley, and more. In July of last year it was revealed that Paige had suffered a bad neck injury that would require surgery to repair.

It's been over a year since the WWE Universe has seen Paige inside the squared circle, and according to a recent report from PWInsider, her return is coming a lot sooner than fans may think. The report suggests that Paige will be returning to the SmackDown Live brand as opposed to Monday Night RAW where she was drafted last year.

Her return is expected to occur within sometime next month, perhaps after Hell In A Cell in order to set up a longterm feud.

What are your thoughts on Paige being set to return to the WWE ring as soon as next month? Who would you like to see her face off against? Should she immediately be thrust into the SmackDown Live Women's Title picture? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
