Neymar's Instagram post after Bayern Munich win proves Edinson Cavani feud is over

Neymar and Edinson Cavani put their supposed feud to bed last night as they helped Paris Saint-Germain defeat Bayern Munich in convincing fashion.

Not only did both players score but they looked pleased when the other one did so, although some attempted to portray Neymar’s decision not to immediately celebrate with Cavani after the Uruguayan’s goal as proof that something was still wrong.

But the duo were seen holding hands as they cheered the home crowd at full-time, further evidence that their rift was actually not much of a rift at all.

Unai Emery would much prefer the focus to be on his whole team after PSG showed that everybody should take them seriously in this season’s Champions League.

Dani Alves scored in the second minute following Neymar’s spectacular run and Cavani made it 2-0 on the half hour mark when he thumped the ball home from outside the area.

The incredible Kylian Mbappe, who provided the assist for Cavani’s goal, made a mockery of David Alaba before teeing up Neymar to score in the second half.

So all in all it was a great night for PSG.

Neymar reacted on Instagram

Further proof that Neymar and Cavani settled their differences, which stemmed from their disagreement over who should take a penalty against Lyon, came via the Brazilian’s Instagram account.

He posted an photo of himself and the 30-year-old embracing, clearly happy to be alongside each other.

So we’ll take Sport’s report that Neymar had demanded Cavani be sold as lies, then.

Unai Emery was delighted with the win

PSG boss Unai Emery was glowing after the win gave the Parisiens the advantage in Group B.

“We took three points tonight, that's a good thing,” he said, per the Daily Mail.

“We wanted to win to take the lead of this group, it is done. It was important for our supporters to enjoy this evening.

“We were able to adapt tactically against Bayern, who played high (up the pitch) against us.”

PSG have been pretenders in the Champions League in recent years but they look like the real deal now.
