Returning from an ankle injury, Chelsea winger Eden Hazard produced an incredible display in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old Belgium was the Man of the Match as Antonio Conte's side secured a hugely impressive 2-1 win away at Atletico Madrid.

His Italian coach was delighted with his "amazing" performance.

"We must be very happy because Eden Hazard's performance was amazing," said Conte. "It was the first big game for him after his injury.

"His answer was fantastic and positive. He had a great link with Alvaro Morata and I am happy for Michy Batshuayi but also Willian played very well."

Chelsea have now taken six points from their opening two Champions League group games and are in a very strong position to progress to the last 16.

The Blues are unbeaten since their shock opening day of the season defeat at home to Burnley.

They lie 3rd in the Premier League table and host league leaders Manchester City on Saturday evening in what promises to be a tasty clash.

"We are very happy," said Hazard. "It was a tough game against one of the biggest teams in Europe. We deserved to win the game.

"We are playing very well. We have quality in the team and we want to win every game. It was not easy today but we did it."

The tricky Belgian winger was magnificent on Wednesday evening, giving the runaround to experienced Spanish international Juanfran.

Hazard came inches from scoring one of the best goals of his career but his all-round display was key to Chelsea's success.

He is sure to make his first Premier League start of the season against Manchester City.

"We are very confident, trust me. But also, Man City are very good so it is going to be a good game on Saturday," Hazard told BT Sport.

"Two great teams, two great managers, with a lot of good players on the pitch, so we will see.

"We want to play these types of games. We play for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world and we want to win every game."

Chelsea beat Manchester City in both their meetings last season but Pep Guardiola's in-form side are unquestionably playing the best football since his arrival.
