Brock Lesnar will be back on WWE television earlier than originally expected.

The WWE Universal Champion was last seen on WWE television when he retained his title over Braun Strowman at Sunday’s WWE No Mercy pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, CA at the Staples Center on the WWE Network.

The sports entertainment company is bringing him back for a special edition of Raw. There was speculation that Lesnar would not be back on TV until 2018 due to the fact that he was not advertised for any upcoming WWE events.

Lesnar was expected to be taken off of television. His last PPV bout of this year was supposed to be at No Mercy. This means that WWE will be without Lesnar for the next few months.

He is not scheduled for the TLC pay-per-view that takes place in his hometown of Minnesota on October 22, 2017, at the Target Center. Keep in mind that historically, the main event on a TLC PPV is traditionally a TLC match for the WWE/Universal Championship. With Lesnar not working the event, the title won’t be on the card.

Lesnar won the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 33 earlier this year in Orlando, Florida by beating Goldberg. He is reportedly set for a one-year run with the title, despite his part-time status. Lesnar has been more active than he was during his previous title run. Lesnar is also not working the Survivor Series PPV event in November.

Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns still seems to be the plan for Wrestlemania 34 as it has been the long-term plan and has been rumored since around Wrestlemania 33.

Things have changed as he is currently advertised for the final Raw before the Survivor Series pay-per-view on November 13th from Atlanta. As of this writing, Lesnar is not advertised for the pay-per-view itself. With Lesnar advertised for the show, this means that he will be appearing at Survivor Series and most likely the post-Survivor Series edition of Raw. WWE could either have Paul Heyman cut promos for him leading up to the event or add Lesnar to more dates for Raw. Time will tell how all of this plays out but it’s good to see him back on TV before 2018.
