The Philadelphia 76ers are heading into this season with a huge amount of optimism and anticipation. With a talented roster at their disposal, the franchise expects to finally win again and come out of the period of mediocrity it's been languishing in over recent years. With Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid working their way back to full health and this year's number one overall draft pick Markelle Fultz in their ranks, they have an exciting young core to build around. They have also added savvy veterans J.J. Redick and Amir Johnson to bring some veteran leadership to the group. With a realistic shot at making the playoffs, the team regrouped for their training camp ahead of the new season this week with a renewed focus on winning. In order for them to be ready for the new campaign, they will inevitably have to shake off some rust having had a typically lengthy layoff in the offseason. In a video posted on social media recently, it shows multiple 76ers players horribly missing shots consecutively during a practice session this week.It has inevitably led to trolling from fans but the best reaction came from the NBA social media king himself, Joel Embiid, who couldn't help but have a crack at the expense of his teammates. The center hilariously commented: "When you start my career in 2k and 50 overall."

The Cameroonian is known for being the funniest NBA figure on social media and showed that not even members of his own team are safe.

Embiid has never been shy to speak his mind and has used the platform to create a bubbly reputation for himself.

As much as Sixers fans love the big man for his banter off the court, they would much rather see him on the floor dominating games and helping the team win.

During the team's media day earlier this week, the 23-year-old admitted that he wouldn't be playing 82 games this season but is still hoping to be ready for the opening night despite not being cleared for full basketball activity yet.

“If I could play 82 games, I would,” Embiid said. “But I’ll be honest, I don’t think I’ll play 82 games. That’s not happening … I’m just focused on my path to being back on the court.

“I think the timetable, we’ve been focusing on the first game of the season.”

Philly opens its campaign with a trip to the Washington Wizards on October 19.
