WWE will be adding another match to the Hell in a Cell lineup.

As seen at the SummerSlam PPV (pay-per-view) event at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Rusev lost to Randy Orton in just nine seconds. As a result of this finish, it caught a lot of members of the WWE Universe off guard. For those who may not know, Rusev has yet to win a match on pay-per-view since defeating Zack Ryder at WWE Battleground in July of 2016.

For those who may not know, Rusev has yet to win a match on pay-per-view since defeating Zack Ryder at WWE Battleground in July of 2016.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported in a recent issue that the quick loss was just a way to kick off their program. The idea that was pitched by members of the WWE creative team was the first match to be a fluke and because Orton was in desperate need of a victory after losing several matches on pay-per-view to Bray Wyatt and WWE Champion Jinder Mahal.

This past, Meltzer noted in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the sports entertainment company will be booking a match between Orton and Rusev at the Hell in a Cell PPV.

Meltzer would go on to speculate that the match will be a gimmick match. More specifically, a Last Man Standing match, due to them working that match while overseas in Japan.

The Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event takes place on October 8th, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan at the Little Caesars Arena and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. This will be an exclusive SmackDown Live brand event.

Although it has yet to be confirmed, the belief is that Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens
in a Hell in a Cell match will headline this event while Jinder Mahal vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Title will co-main event this show. Here is the updated card:

--- WWE Title Match: Jinder Mahal © vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

--- Hell In A Cell Match: Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens

--- SmackDown Tag Team Title Hell In A Cell Match: The New Day © vs. The Usos

--- SmackDown Women’s Title Match: Natalya © vs. Charlotte Flair

--- United States Title Match: AJ Styles © vs. Baron Corbin

--- Singles Match: Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler
