World renowned boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is trying to find a new opponent for Dillian Whyte.

The most likely opponent now is Dominic Breazeale after his fight with Bermane Stiverne was cancelled so the latter could challenge Deontay Wilder.

The fight is set to take place on the undercard of the Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev fight in Cardiff on October 28, with the winner moving a step closer to a title shot against Wilder.

Hearn has heaped praise on the British fighter in a recent interview shown on Sky Sports.

He said: "Dillian Whyte's in a great position now. He's number 3 in the WBC, I think he's number 6 in the IBF and ranked with the WBO and WBA so that shots coming."

After Luis Ortiz failed a drugs test, Whyte was ready and willing to take his place and fight Deontay Wilder.

However, that fight hasn't happened, and Hearn has gone on to admit that he has found it hard to find a top ranked fighter to take on Whyte.

"It's very frustrating at the moment, we have been through the whole rankings.

"People tell me the number they want to get in the ring with Dillian Whyte. I pay the money and they find an excuse not to fight him."

Praise has been heaped on the 29-year-old talent by Hearn, where he calls him a handful, and after Anthony Joshua and Dereck Chisora, other heavyweights don't seem to want to get in the ring with him.

A former WBC international heavyweight and British heavyweight champion, Whyte isn't a name to be taken lightly.

After making his professional debut in May 2011, he has only one loss at the hands of Anthony Joshua in his 22 professional fights, winning 16 of them by knockout.

After the loss to Joshua, he spent some time recovering from shoulder surgery, but he has got himself back in the ring and beaten Ivica Bacurin, Ian Lewison, Dereck Chisora, and Malcolm Tann.

It will be interesting to see whether Whyte can make the step up and get himself into a position where he is ready to take on Deontay Wilder for the title.
