WWE has always had an interest in Conor McGregor ever since he made himself known to the world when he knocked out Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds at UFC 194, winning the UFC Featherweight Championship in the process.

Since then, he has reached new heights and has become a global superstar, most recently putting up a valiant effort against Floyd Mayweather inside the ring in his first professional boxing match. Despite the loss, many were still entertained by the UFC fighter, as was the WWE.

WWE tried their best to get both McGregor and Mayweather to appear on Monday Night RAW during the build-up to their fight as they knew how big of a confrontation between these two was. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful in their efforts, but they haven't given up hope on the Irishman yet.

RAW commissioner Stephanie McMahon recently spoke at a Leaders in Sports convention at Stamford Bridge, where she was asked if she thought the Notorious would make for a good fit in the WWE.

To no surprise, Stephanie said yes, as she believes McGregor would go far in the company thanks to his charisma, appeal, authenticity, and athletic ability, describing him as a perfect fit for the WWE.

McMahon said, according to the Mirror: "I think Conor would be a perfect fit with WWE. He certainly has the personality and the athletic ability, the appeal. He speaks his mind, he's very genuine and authentic and he has a hell of a Vince McMahon swagger."

If WWE wants McGregor to be a part of their company, then they're probably going to have to persuade him with a big payday, especially after the payday he received after fightining against Mayweather back in August.

McGregor has had a mixed relationship with the WWE ever since he became a global superstar as well. While he has praised Vince McMahon for creating the company and earning so much through his success, which inspires him, he's also slaughtered all superstars in the WWE today, including John Cena as he called him a ‘failed Mr. Olympia’.

This certainly would make for a good first feud for McGregor if he ever was to join the WWE. Imagine that. Conor McGregor vs John Cena inside a WWE ring.
