Football News

It was around this time last year that Kylian Mbappe had started to establish himself as a regular in Monaco's starting XI, and his rise since then has been phenomenal.

The striker scored 26 goals as Les Monegasques reached the Champions League semi-finals and won Ligue 1, and even earned himself a place in the France national team.

If that wasn't enough, Mbappe had Real Madrid sniffing around him this summer before Paris Saint-Germain signed him on loan in deal that could be worth £165 million next year.

Two players that Mbappe is starting to develop an understanding with, for PSG and France respectively, are Neymar and Antoine Griezmann.

Both stars are regarded as world-class attackers by most people, but according to Mbappe, there is one key difference between the pair - and he's explained what it is.

Mbappe compares Neymar and Griezmann

Neymar has registered eight goals in as many games for Paris so far this term, compared to just three Atletico Madrid goals for Griezmann.

Despite this, Mbappe thinks the latter is the deadlier and more instinctive forward in front of goal, while the Brazilian offers more creativity.

The 18-year-old sensation, who's scored three times for PSG this season, told reporters, via Squawka: "They (Griezmann and Neymar) are two different players.

"Neymar has (a) more creative side, and Griezmann has this killer side in front of the goal. They are two players from whom I learn every day."

At both Barcelona and Paris, Neymar tends to operate from the left-wing, whereas Griezmann has been used more centrally since swapping Real Sociedad for Atletico back in 2014.

We are in October, yet Mbappe and Neymar have already contributed to an impressive 20 goals thus far for Paris Saint-Germain since their respective summer moves.

Meanwhile, Mbappe will be hoping to link up effectively with 26-year-old Griezmann during the international break, starting with Saturday's trip to Bulgaria, where only a win will keep Les Bleus in charge of Group A.
