The WWE has been anything but subtle in recent weeks when hinting that The Shield could be reuniting in the coming weeks.
Although a large portion of the WWE Universe had been clamouring for a reunion for quite some time now, the possibility increased during the superstar shake-up earlier this year when Dean Ambrose was moved from SmackDown LIVE to Monday Night RAW.
The move meant that Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns were finally on the same brand again.

The next step saw The Lunatic Fringe and The Kingslayer put their differences aside - despite their entertaining feuds ever since Rollins stabbed his brothers in the back - to claim the RAW tag team championships.
For some weeks now, The Miz and The Miztourage have got involved in a storyline with Reigns, and the assumption is that The Shield will reunite for a match at TLC, and WWE dropped a massive hint to close out RAW last week which had all three members standing side by side backstage.
The Miz is involved, Braun Strowman is also speculated to get involved in some way while it's obvious that Sheamus and Cesaro are going to be featured in any match that has a Shield reunion.
Now, Wrestling Observer Radio has revealed the real reason why WWE is moving ahead with a reunion at the upcoming TLC event.
The source has reported that WWE officials were heavily concerned about the show not featuring either John Cena or Brock Lesnar, with Cena going on another hiatus and The Beast Incarnate is not expected to return to WWE television with his Universal Championship in tow until 2018.
With two massive absences, officials felt that TLC wouldn't feature a top draw, giving fans not much of an incentive to tune in.
This is why TLC is seemingly building around The Shield, so if they do reunite, expect them to headline the show.
At the moment, there's talk of a 4-on-3 handicap match where The Shield battle The Miz, Braun Strowman along with Sheamus and Cesaro, but WWE could still change that.
If they want a championship match taking place, then The Miz could still be taken out to defend the Intercontinental Championship - but that would be an abrupt decision and poor storytelling to take him out after how he has mimicked The Shield in recent weeks.
