The heat between Santino Marella and legendary professional wrestling manager Jim Cornette doesn't seem to have died down after all these years.Marella recently wrapped up his professional wrestling career which lasted over a decade. He began training back in 2003 and was signed by WWE just two years later in 2005. Marella was sent to the promotion's then-developmental territory of Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) which was designed to teach him the ropes of not only the professional wrestling business, but how to work the ring on TV.After two years in developmental Marella was called up to the main roster. He made his debut as a member of the audience on an episode of Monday Night RAW from Milan, Italy. Thanks to some assistance to Bobby Lashley, Marella pulled of a shocking upset win over Umaga to win the Intercontinental Championship. While Marella was mostly used as a comedy character he actually had a fairly successful career inside the squared circle. He finished his time with the company as a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a one-time Tag Team Champion, one-time United States Champion, and a Miss WrestleMania winner as well.He also had the opportunity to work with some of the best looking WWE Divas of all time such as Maria, Beth Phoenix, and Emma. Around the year 2014 Marella announced that he would be forced to retire after undergoing a third neck surgery. He would make several more appearances for WWE before being released from his contract in 2016.This past August Marella came out of retirement for one final match at Destiny World Wrestling, which which operates out of his Battle Arts Academy facilities. He teamed up with fellow former WWE Superstar Chavo Guerrero to defeat RJ City and Stone Rockwell.Yesterday (Sat. October 7, 2017) Marella made an appearance at a wrestling convention in Detroit, Michigan known as the XICW Cobo Legends Convention. While at the Cobo Center a fan captured a video of Marella and professional wrestling legend Jim Cornette arguing in the lobby of what looks to be a hotel:Cornette took to Twitter to announce that he had left the event early after the altercation:

This isn't the first time Cornette and Marella have been involved in an altercation with one another. Back in 2005 when Marella was in OVW, where Cornette served as the booker and co-owner, Marella laughed during an angle where he was supposed to act afraid of The Boogeyman.

Instead, however, Marella laughed and that didn't sit well with Cornette at all, who proceeded to slap Marella in front of the entire locker room. This let to Cornette being fired as booker from OVW by WWE.

What are your thoughts on the heated exchange between Cornette and Marella? Why do you think the pair were arguing? And do you think they have resolved their differences since the back-and-forth? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
