First half goals from Stephen Dawson and David Worrall helped Bury to a 2-1 win at Bournemouth and lifted them into the play-off places.

Captain Dawson put his side in front after nine minutes when he latched onto Andy Morrell's through ball to slot past Shwan Jalal

The visitors then had keeper Wayne Brown to thank for a fingertip save which somehow kept out Jeff Goulding's header.

That save proved vital as eight minutes before half time Bury were two up. Worrall cut inside Warren Cummings on the right before beating Jalal at his near post

It was almost three before the break but Ryan Lowe's tap-in was ruled out for a foul in the build-up.

In the second half Bournemouth substitute Steve Fletcher had a goal disallowed before Efe Sodje sliced against his own crossbar.

Brett Pitman did manage a consolation in injury time but Bury held on.
