Roman Reigns is still being pushed as the top guy in WWE despite the majority of the WWE Universe booing him relentlessly, similar to what John Cena had to deal with in the prime of his career.

Reigns is a former member of the beloved Shield faction, which on an unrelated note seems to be approaching a reunion soon. Since separating from The Shield, Reigns has been primed to be the next big mega-star out of WWE and is currently being groomed to dethrone Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 next year for the WWE Universal Championship.

As a singles competitor, Reigns has won the WWE United States Title once, the WWE World Heavyweight Title three times, and the winner of the Royal Rumble match in 2015. He is also only one of two men (the other being Brock Lesnar) to have defeated The Undertaker in WrestleMania competition.

Many fans have debated as to whether or not the WWE should continue pushing Reigns the way they are, making him seem like a baby face despite the negative reaction he receives from fans. Some have suggested that creative should turn him heel and he'd perhaps be better received that way.

WWE Hall Of Famer and legendary professional wrestling broadcaster Jim Ross recently spoke to Pop Culture to discuss the rise of Reigns in WWE, and offered his two cents on the WWE's pushing of him (quotes via Wrestling Inc.):

"Well, I think you just got to continue to allow him to be pretty good. You know, whenever the time is opportune. He is better than pretty good and a good kid, real good kid. Very committed.

"There's nothing you say on TV, there's no pillow vignettes, let's change his music, let's change his hair color, let's change his outfit. You know, let's change for change's sake.

"Let's change not knowing the selection, but just change for change sake. Because well, it might work. It might not. Steer the course and not be so wrapped up in getting him accepted as a fan favorite or a villain.

"I accept him as a star. And that's what Roman Reigns is, he's a star."

What are your thoughts on Ross' comments regarding the push of Roman Reigns? Do you think the WWE needs to change things up as it pertains to "The Big Dog's" rise through WWE? Or should they simply stay the course and have him continue doing what he's doing now? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
