Brady's 'headbutt' on Williams was laughable

Burnley’s Robbie Brady played the full 90 minutes in Cardiff but now faces a potential FIFA ban after being caught ‘headbutting’ - if you can call it that - the Welsh defender Ashley Williams.

Brady, angered with the Everton centre-back after being pushed to the ground, reacted by getting up and putting his head into Williams’ back.

Stupid? Obviously. But Williams didn’t react. In fact, it’s possible that he didn’t even feel the contact.

It was the tamest and most pathetic ‘headbutt’ we’ve probably ever seen - Gary Neville on Steve McManaman not withstanding.

Brady now faces a ban from FIFA

However, Sky Sports have now revealed that FIFA are to investigate the headbutt.

If found guilty of violent conduct, Brady could miss at least the first leg of Ireland’s World Cup play-off next month.

Bet he wishes he’d properly connected now.
