Manchester United have been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann in recent years.

His younger brother, Theo, regularly tweets about his love of the Red Devils on Twitter and has been teasing United fans for some time.

Despite interest from Man United, the 26-year-old French international confirmed he would stay at the club due to the transfer embargo currently imposed until January.

The arrival of Diego Costa from Chelsea suggests Griezmann will be leaving Atletico in the near future, with Barcelona reportedly set to compete with United for his signature.

"The CAS sanction has been passed. I've decided to stay," Griezmann told the French football programme, Telefoot in July.

"It's been another good season and hopefully we can make some good signings in January.

"It's a tough moment for the club, for my team-mates, and it would be a low blow to leave now."

Griezmann was this week included in the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d'Or.

Agent Rashford and Agent Lingard

Famously, Bastian Schweinsteiger's brother Tobias was a huge Manchester United fan and supporters believed he played a part in bringing the legendary Bayern Munich midfielder to Old Trafford in 2015.

They're hopeful that Theo Griezmann will have the same affect on Atletico's main man, who reportedly will be able to leave for just €100m next summer.

Griezmann shared a photo on Twitter revealing what Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard did for him.

Possibly looking to charm him, the young Manchester United duo gave Griezmann's brother their signed England shirts.

Lingard came off the bench in both of England's 1-0 wins over the international break whilst Rashford is now a regular in Gareth Southgate's starting XI.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is yet to start a Premier League game this season but has made seven substitute appearances in all competitions.

"I think I’d like more goals and assists coming into play this year," said Lingard.

"Marcus and I have set little targets for ourselves. In each game, we set them ourselves. But that’s our little secret and we have our own ambitions as well. Hopefully we can achieve them."
