WWE officials already have plans in place for Samoa Joe.

According to CageSide Seats, there are rumors that former NXT Champion Samoa Joe could be feuding with Braun Strowman and Finn Balor once he returns to action. He’s expected to be in action by the end of this month.

If you recall, Joe suffered a knee injury in late August, which has forced him from competing. The former NXT Champion has since missed several events and has been pulled from WWE television. He was supposed to wrestle John Cena on Raw several weeks ago in Memphis, TN at the FedExForum. Obviously, that match didn’t take place.

Joe suffered the injury at the WWE live event in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where he faced Cena. Joe missed the live event on the next day in Tupelo, Mississippi. Cena ended up facing Bray Wyatt in Tupelo instead. Joe was in Birmingham, Alabama earlier this month for a diagnosis on his injured knee.

For several years, fans wanted to see Joe sign with WWE following his success in Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor. Finally, he signed with the company in 2015. However, instead of being placed on the main roster right away like many fans thought would happen, WWE decided to place him in NXT.

He was in NXT for nearly two years. He was later called up to the main roster. On the January 30, 2017, episode of Raw, Joe made his official main roster debut by attacking Seth Rollins from behind and aligning himself with Triple H.

During a recent interview with Sky Sports, Joe mentioned that he also underwent surgery to repair his nose which has been broken eight times and was causing him breathing difficulties.

“Now it’s the best I’ve ever felt, it really is. I also needed nasal surgery as I’ve broken my nose about eight times in my career, so I was only breathing at around 60 percent. You have no idea how invigorating it is now.” In regards to his knee injury, he said that “The recovery's going really well, but I've only been able to perform at about 80 percent capacity since joining NXT. Back then I had no chance to take time off because of the WWE opportunity, before I was just treating the knee problem with ice and elevation at home."
