Ever since the dramatic conclusion to Hell in a Cell on Sunday, fans have been waiting to hear from Sami Zayn.

Zayn shocked everyone when he arrived at the last second to save his long time rival Kevin Owens from the falling Shane McMahon.

Revealing the truth

Owens and Zayn have been bitter rivals since their days in NXT and they have brawled several times while on the main roster.

however the fans demanded explanations for his choice to help Owens on Sunday night and what he had to say was certainly interesting to hear.

It began with Owens coming to the ring alone however and telling a story that as Shane McMahon stood atop of the cell, Owens could see the gates to heaven.

He referred to Zayn as his guardian angel who brought him back to Earth and guided him to victory over McMahon.

Zayn would then come to the ring and reveal his motives.

Largely blaming Shane McMahon for not giving him the opportunities that he claims he was promised, Zayn revealed why he turned his back on his Commissioner.

Revealing that the last conversation he had with McMahon before Hell in a Cell revealed to him that McMahon doesn't care about him, Zayn would go on to express that Owens was right all along.

The two would then hug to conclude the segment and confirm that they are firmly back on the same page.

The choice to turn Zayn heel at Hell in a Cell was much criticised but the segment on Smackdown showed the potential that exists in bringing the two superstars together.

Main event calibre

Ever since arriving on Smackdown Live, Owens has constantly been a part of the main event picture, despite not challenging for the WWE Championship during his time there.

Teaming Zayn with Owens certainly elevates his status on the show and could possibly give him a route into the main event picture.

The two could easily form a bond that would help them become a very dominant force on Smackdown, just like Owens did with Chris Jericho on RAW earlier this year.
